Garbage Pick-Up
In accordance with Cowan City Code, all tenants are required to store garbage in study containers with lids and handles.  Please place garbage containers at street side on Monday night for Tuesday pick-up and then remove them from street side after pick-up.

If you would like to participate in Cowan’s recycling program, stop by City Hall to pickup blue bags so you can separate newsprint, paper, aluminum cans, and plastic bottles.  Curbside pick-up for blue bags is on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Utilities:
Questions about local utilities should be directed to the service providers:
Elk River Utility Company www.erpud.com (gas): 931-967-3642
Duck River Electric Company www.dremc.com (electric): 931-598-5228
Cowan Board of Public Utilities: 931-967-7318 (at City Hall)

Insurance:
While renters insurance is not required, it is strongly recommended to protect your possessions in case of fire, theft, or damage.  We do not recommend any specific insurance company, but this is a handy calculator to look at replacement costs -- What Your Stuff Worth?
